RAIPUR: A 21-year-old youth was sentenced to 10-year rigorous imprisonment in an attempted murder case.
The court of third additional district and sessions judge Pratibha Verma on Saturday sentenced the convict to 10 years RI in connection with a murder attempt reported in October 2018, additional public prosecutor Hamid Hussain Khan told TOI.
The accused has been identified as Ramkrishna Tiwari alias Ramu (21), a resident of Siltara village comes under Dharsiva police station of Raipur district .
In October 2018, the accused met one of his acquaintances at a shop. The two got into a fight, which ended with the accused hitting the acquaintance, Shailesh Puri Goswami, on the head, critically injuring him.
The judge has also imposed Rs 2000 penalty on the accused, defaulting on which will attract two months additional imprisonment.
