Rajasthan: 10-year-old mentally challenged girl raped, murdered by brother, his 3 friends
Jaipur: In a shocking incident, a man, along with his three friends, allegedly strangled his minor sister after raping her on Jaipur’s outskirts. The incident took place within the territorial jurisdiction of Manoharpur Police Station. The minor victim went missing on at around 4 pm May 17. The police recovered her body on May 21.
The investigating officials stated that on May 18 the parents of the girl approached the police and lodged a missing complaint. The police officials launched a searched to find her. The minor was mentally challenged and could not even talk or do routine tasks by herself, according to ACP Sulesh Choudhary. For three days, despite searching flat out, the police officials were unable to find her.
While speaking to The Times of India, Superintendent of Police, Jaipur Rural, Shankar Dutt Sharma said that hundreds of police officials were commissioned for searching the girl in the area. Moreover, the family was giving contradicting answers. The investigating officials grew suspicious of their role in the girl’s disappearance and began looking for her in the forest also thinking that the family might have murdered and buried her there.
After three days, the family members went to the police station with the clothes of the deceased minor, saying that they found them in the forest area. Finally, the child’s body was recovered by the officials from the forest.
The officials began examining the call records of likely culprits and zeroed in on four persons including the deceased child’s brother. Later, during interrogation, he confessed to having committed the crime.
The TOI reported that the now-deceased girl’s brother, along with his friends, allegedly took the girl to an isolated spot for killing her. However, after reaching the spot, they first raped her and then strangled her.
