Rajasthan: Father bids farewell to daughter in style, arranges helicopter for her vidaai [VIDEO and PHOTOS]

Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan: A father fulfilled his daughter's wish by arranging a helicopter for her 'vidaai' after her wedding. Mahendra Singh Solakh, from Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu, had planned the grand departure for her daughter a year ago.

While the ritual of 'vidaai' is an emotional moment for every girl's parents, Solakh wanted to make it memorable for his daughter.

Soon after the wedding, the bride Reena and her husband Sandeep Lamba left from Ajitpura village near Chidawa town in Jhunjhunu district for Sultana in a helicopter. A huge crowd gathered early in the morning to see the helicopter.

When Solakh decided to get his daughter married about a year ago, he had made up his mind to give Reena a grand 'vidaai'. He wanted his daughter to leave her home in style. However, he shared his wish with his family only two months before the wedding day.

"I planned this a year back and shared the idea with my family when the wedding was 2 months away," Solakh told news agency ANI.

"Betiyon ko isse badhaav milta hai. Jaise ki humare yahan pe bahut saari ghatnaayein hoti hain betiyon ke sath. Isse garv mehsoos hoga thoda (This will encourage daughters. A lot of incidents happen with daughters here. This will make them proud," the bride can be heard saying in the video.

Reena is a first-year student at Jhunjhunu Morraka College while her husband Sandeep works as a railway station master in Nashik.

'Vidaai' is a ritual of Hindu marriage ceremony in which the bride bids farewell to her family.
