Rajkumari Ratna Singh, a three-time MP from Congress, joined BJP

Pratapgarh: Rajkumari Ratna Singh, a three-time Congress MP from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here in the presence of the state's CM Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday. During this time, hundreds of her supporters along with Rajkumari have also joined BJP. CM Yogi Adityanath has reached the public meeting in support of BJP candidate Rajkumar Pal in the by-election in Sadar seat in Gadwara market of Pratapgarh.

CM Yogi included Rajkumari in the party wearing a BJP bandage. Apna Dal (S) President Anupriya Patel, Minister Moti Singh, Swami Prasad Maurya and Pratapgarh MP Sangam Lal Gupta were present on the stage during this. It is noteworthy that Rajkumari Ratna Singh is the daughter of former Foreign Minister late King Dinesh Singh. Raja Dinesh Singh has been elected MP from Pratapgarh four times and his daughter Rajkumari Ratna Singh thrice in 1996, 1999 and 2009.

The party's national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi campaigned in support of Rajkumari Ratna Singh, the Congress candidate in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, but had to face defeat. Prior to this, Dr. Sanjay Singh of Amethi has joined BJP with wife Amita Singh.
