Ramnad dist mobile complaint number receives over 80 complaints

Ramanathapuram: The Ramanathapuram district police which introduced a mobile complaint number 9489919722 on November 7 has received more than 80 complaints in the first week. One of the complaints involved the rescue of a 14-year-old girl from a 17-year-old boy who abducted her with the promise of marrying her. Paramakudi police rescued the girl and arrested the youth.

Another call resulted in the cracking of a spurious liquor racket. Callers have also reported cases that are pending action with the local police stations, following which it has been seriously looked into and followed up by the district superintendent of police (SP) as the mobile number is with police personnel accompanying him.tnn
