Ranu Mondal became famous with Lata Mangeshkar's song, but its lyricist Santosh Anand is living a painful life

With her soulful rendition of Lata Mangeshkar's song Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai, Ranu Mondal became an overnight singing sensation. 
A personality associated with the song, however, is leading his life in anonymity. The lyricist of the song, Santosh Anand, as per circulating reports, is living a painful life.

The forgotten veteran songwriter reportedly reached a Kavi Sammelan of late and said that people have been calling him to tell that a 'woman who used to beg on the streets' sang his song and has now landed an opportunity to sing in a Himesh Reshammiya film. He reportedly went on to add that he doesn't even have a smartphone in order to be able to see her performance.

He also told the daily that he stopped writing songs in 1995 itself. However, after his son and daughter-in-law committed suicide, he confined himself to his house. After some time, a few friends of him requested him to perform live on stage once again, however, he said that contemporary songs do not have that element.

 

 

He added that marketing has now taken over art and in order to manage household expenses, he participates in poet conferences. His whole life has been spent in struggle, he further said. He had a literature background, he said and that's why he could write good songs. He feels that his collaborations with Lakshmikant Pyarelal were a 'hit'.

Meanwhile, Ranu Mondal would be lending her vocals to the song Teri Meri Khanai from Himesh Reshammiya's upcoming film Happy Hardy and Heer

. She recently recorded the song with the actor-music director in a studio.

Recently, Ranu also made an appearance on Superstar Singer. She earlier used to sing at Ranaghat railway station in West Bengal.
