Rape survivor writes to DGP, seeks justice

RAIPUR: A rape survivor from Raigarh district has in a letter to the director general of police sought his intervention for justice accusing an inspector posted in Jashpur of cheating and repeatedly raping her on pretext of marriage.

Police sources said the DGP on receipt of the letter has ordered DGP an inquiry in the case and to lodge an FIR if allegations are found true.

The survivor in her letter alleged that she is a divorcee and came in contact with the cop two years ago when he was posted in Pathalgaon block of Jashpur. She alleged that the cop proposed to her and developed physical relationship. He would often call her to Pathalgaon from Raigarh and book a hotel to meet.
