Retired DSP Deba Ranjan Sarma: A tribute

 

Resigned Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deba Ranjan Sarma is no more. Deba Ranjan was a valiant yet humble ‘man dressed in Khaki’, adorned with dedication, duty, and uprightness to the land he lived and the individuals he served. Simultaneously, he was faithful to his area of expertise and extreme on culprits and hostile to social components.

He left for eminent dwelling place October 31 at his very own living arrangement at Jakhalabondha in Nagaon locale.

Conceived at town Baligaon in Jorhat region in 1957 to the group of Upendra Nath Sarma, Administrative Officer of Assam Agriculture University and Renu Devi, Sarma breezed through the HSLC assessment from Baligaon Jagannath Barua Arya Vidyalaya and finished his graduation from CKB Commerce College in 1981.

He joined Assam Police in 1984 as a Sub-Inspector. After fruitful finishing of preparing and going out from Police Training College (PTC), Dergaon in Golaghat locale, he began his profession as an appended Sub-Inspector at Golaghat PS. In his underlying period in administration, he was granted an award by the then Chief Minister for his extraordinary help. He rendered his administration in various police headquarters of the State, specifically Dergaon, Geleki, Halowating,  Bokota-Nemuguri, Gaurisagar, Mathurapur, Morajar, Bordowa,  Dibrugarh, and Sibasagar as the Officer-in-control.

On February 25, 1992, he tied the marital bunch with Minakshi Sarma of Dergaon.

With his advancement as Inspector, he rendered his administration as a Law Instructor at the PTC for a significant long residency of five years. He was very much familiar with the police manual, rules, and laws identified with the police, other than the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and general information. He was advanced as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in 2013. In spite of the fact that he joined Darrang locale as the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Border wing, later he was posted as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) till his retirement in 2018. Prior on October 1, 2009, he was presented an exceptional honor for his Police Public Relations by the Director-General of Police. He was additionally a known name in football and volleyball and played for the Assam Police Volleyball crew. He deserts his significant other, children Dr. Samudra Dev Sarma and Sunav Dev Sarma, two siblings and three sisters.
