Retired railway staff found dead in pond in Bolangir

Bolangir: The body an elderly man was found floating in a pond near Kumuda Pahada in Titilagarh of the district today.

The deceased identified as P Chiti Babu was a retired railway staff and was resident of Malgodampada near Bolangir railway station.

Locals first spotted the body floating in the pond this morning and called up the police.

The cops reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.

Though the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the elderly man might have drowned in the pond while cleaning up his body after attending nature’s call.

Meanwhile, the police have registered an unnatural death case in this connection.
