Rewa cops ask 2 Chinese engineers to leave country
BHOPAL: Rewa police have given an ultimatum to two Chinese engineers, who are working on tourist visa at the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Power Plant , to leave the country within 72 hours. A fine of Rs 36000 each has also been imposed on them.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team reached the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Power Plant and verified the documents of the Chinese engineer .
It was found in the verification that they had come under tourist visa but are working in the solar plant, police said.
“It is a case of visa violation and ultimatum has been issued to both the engineers to leave India within 72 hours. A fine of Rs 36000 each has also been imposed on them which they have paid. If they fail to leave country in 72 hours they would be rounded up and deported,” SP Rewa Abid Khan told TOI.
He said, “Apart from the two foreigners, a case of abetment under section 14 of the foreigners Act has been registered against the company which has employed these foreigners. Abetting visa violation is also a crime under the Act”.

Sources said that both the engineers are experts in robotics and were giving demo in the plant when police reached there for inspection. As per norms, anyone who comes on tourist visa cannot do commercial work in the country, said sources.
