Road accidents in Adgaon claim five lives

NASHIK: Five people died in road accidents in and near Adgaon between Thursday and Sunday. Adgaon police said Akash Kotme (25) and his friend Siddhant Karanjkar , from Bidi Kamgar Nagar, Panchavati, were going to Bidi Kamgaar Nagar around 11pm on Saturday on a bike without a helmet when an unidentified four-wheeler driving on the wrong side from Shilapur to Odha knocked them down.




While Kotme succumbed to his injuries, Karanjkar is undergoing treatment. In another accident, Mangesh Pekhle (25) was speeding his bike towards Madsangvi on the Aurangabad Road around 7pm on Sunday without a helmet. He lost control of the vehicle and knocked Vakil Ali Manjun Ali (35) who was on a cycle. Both Ali and Pekhle succumbed to their injuries.

Ambad police said that a 32-year-old person, a resident of Morewadi, Cidco was mowed down by an unidentified motorist near Vilholi Octroi Post in front of the water purification centre around 6.30pm on Friday. In another accident, Tulshiram Shelar (45) from Mhasrool was knocked down by an unidentified biker near Ramanjanay temple around 10am on Thursday.tnn
