Roxanne Pallett blasts celeb mates who ditched her after CBB punch-gate

Roxanne Pallett has hit out at her famous friends for not sticking by her after Celebrity Big Brother punch-gate.

The ex-Emmerdale actress was embroiled in huge backlash after she accused Ryan Thomas of intentionally assaulting her in the CBB house last year, which were then shown to be untrue.

She was publicly castigated for the incident, lost her role on radio, stepped back from social media and withdrew from the spotlight.

The 36-year-old recently appeared at mental health charity event Music for Your Mind in Manchester, where she said that the worst part about the fallout from her accusations was the "silence" from her celeb pals.

Roxanne explained to the audience in her first booked gig in nearly a year: "Last year, the most difficult part wasn't the avalanche of hate or the opportunists who jumped on the bandwagon.

"It wasn't even the ignorant names I was called - weird, toxic, dangerous, dramatic, evil, mental, crazy, attention-seeker.

"It was the silence of those I considered friends that hurt the most."

Roxanne also explained about suffering from trauma as a child when she was 16 and her family home went up in flames.

In a recent Instagram post she wrote: "It was traumatic to be trapped inside a burning house. Losing our home & all our belongings was one thing, but months later, cancer took my grandma who had raised me. It broke me. I didn’t have counselling."

She revealed how she found it difficult to cope with the grief and attempted to take her own life, before she ended up in an abusive relationship.

Without acknowledging the CBB incident Roxanne went on to explain how she had lost her best friend to suicide, before she finally was diagnosed with a panic disorder.

Roxanne had only appeared on television once since the dramatic days in CBB, with a place on Celebrity Coach Trip, which had been filmed before her stint.

The reaction to her being in the E4 show was enough to show that fans of the Corrie star had still not forgiven her for the punch-gate incident in Celebrity Big Brother .
