RTO to remainclosed for polls,Diwali festival

Nashik: The Nashik regional transport office ( RTO ) will remain closed on October 21, 25 and 29 on account of assembly elections and Diwali festival and applicants for learner’s and driving licences will not be able to appear for tests on these days.

Thye RTO appealed to the applicants to check the new dates issued to them online and get ready accordingly to appear for the tests.

The aim of giving online appointment is to do away with the rush of applicants at the RTO. The system also ensures that the applicants do not have to return due to the rush of applicants. This system is under way at the RTO for more than three years.

Meanwhile, the RTO said that the monthly camp at Sinnar, which was scheduled for October 19, has been advanced to October 18 while the October 21 camp at Yeola will be held on October 31.

Work related to issuing of fitness certificates will not take place on October 19, besides the declared holidays, said the RTO in a press statement.
