Rural schemes: Ajmer tops, Jaipur at 16th place

JAIPUR: Ajmer topped the list among 33 districts in overall performance with respect to all the schemes under rural development and panchayati raj department for the financial year 2018-19 while Jaipur ranked 16th , a jump of four places compared to previous ranking. Even as Jhunjhunu dropped a place to finish second, Bhilwara jumped 10 places to become third on the list.




The ranking is an evaluation of their performance with respect to various schemes like MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G), rural development and panchayati raj schemes, Swachh Bharat Mission - Rural and Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (Rajeevika) for the year 2018-19.

With 56.51 points, Ajmer topped the list having scored 16 out of 40 under MGNREGA, 12.5 out of 18 under PMAY-G and scoring 15 out of 15 under Rajeevika scheme.

Jhunjhunu was just a point behind Ajmer having scored 56.50 points. In terms of the MGNREGA scheme, the district fared better than Ajmer having scored 18 out of 40. It scored 12 out of 15 under Rajeevika scheme and 12 out of 18 under PMAY-G.

Meanwhile, Bhilwara which finished third on the list having jumped 10 places from 13th position, scored 51.63 points. The district scored 16 out of 40 under MGNREGA, 9 out of 15 under Rajeevika scheme and 13 out of 18 under PMAY-G.

Among other districts, Dholpur ranked fourth, a jump of five places from previous ranking; Chittorgarh ranked fifth, a drop of three places from previous ranking. Alwar dropped to 10th position from fourth, having scored 45.75 points.
