Salesgirl stabbed to death at mobile phone showroom in Uttarakhand

Kashipur: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old girl was stabbed to death at a mobile phone store in Kashipur area of Udham Singh Nagar district in Uttarakhand. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when some persons visited the showroom to enquire about the price of a power bank.

The murder came to light after the store owner Manish Chawla reached the showroom and saw the girl's body lying in a pool of blood.

He immediately informed the police about the murder. The girl's body has been sent for postmortem. 

According to a report, the incident took place at Girital Road in Kashipur area. The salesgirl was alone at the store when the miscreants murdered her. The murder has triggered panic in the area.  It is not yet confirmed whether there was more than one attacker.

It is also reported that 11 mobile phones worth over Rs 100,000 have also been found missing from the showroom.

The deceased has been identified as Pinki Rawat, a resident of Dhumakot in Pauri Garhwal. The girl used to live in rented accommodation with his brother at RK Puram Colony in Kashipur. The deceased was working at the showroom for the last three months. 

After the information, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dr Jagdish Chandra, Circle Officer (CO) Amit Kumar, SHO Chandramohan Singh reached the spot and inspected the crime scene. 

According to store owner Manish Chawla, he got a call from Pinki at around 11:45 am asking him about the price of a power bank. After informing her about the price, Chawla told her that will reach the showroom in a short while. But when he reached the store, he found the girl dead.

 

ASP said the murder seems to be a result of either loot or personal enmity. The girl was stabbed eight times in the stomach.  There were no CCTV cameras in the showroom, while the cameras installed at a house opposite the showroom were found to be dysfunctional. 

Police have seized the mobile phone of the victim are also scanning it for any clue. Investigators are also going through the Call Detail Record (CDR) of the girl's phone.
