Samantha Ruth Prabhu to play Priyanka Chopra's character's mother in Indian adaptation of 'Citadel'?

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently shooting for the Indian adaptation of the Russo brothers helmed web-series, ‘ Citadel ’ which is being directed by Raj & DK. Now, according to a media news portal, the actress has confirmed to them that she will be playing the role of Priyanka Chopra’s mother from the American version of the series in it.

As per ETimes, when they reached out to Samantha Ruth Prabhu about her role in the Indian adaptation of ‘Citadel,’ the actress conformed that she indeed is playing the mother to Nadia Sinh, which is Priyanka Chopra’s character in the international counterpart.

But this is just a technicality. A source close to the series has told the news portal, “The international and Indian versions of Citadel are set in two different eras. Priyanka’s character is a child in Samantha’s Citadel. It's like saying Tabu played Irrfan Khan’s mother in Life Of Pi. They didn’t even meet during the shooting.”

‘Citadel’ is the Indian adaptation of Russo Brother’s web-series, ‘Citadel.’ The Indian edition is being directed by Raj and DK. As per reports, Samatha Ruth Prabhu will be performing high-octane action in the web-series along with Varun Dhawan . The actress started shooting for the role in January and since then, she has been sharing glimpses from the sets, whether it is her bruised hands or training and performing stunts with stunt performer and action director Yannick Ben .

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra is recently being seen in the web-series, ‘Citadel’ which is helmed by the Russo Brothers and also stars Richard Madden. The Indian adaptation of the web-series is being directed by Raj & DK and will star Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

She was also seen in ‘Love Again,’ where she plays a woman mourning the death of her boyfriend who texts his old number not knowing it belongs to someone new (Sam Heughan). Celine Dion (and her music) co-star in this romantic drama.
