Second trucker held in Dhavali murder case

PONDA: Ponda police arrested the second driver involved in the scuffle that left one trucker dead and another injured on Wednesday.

The fight between the four men, two from Rajasthan and two from Uttar Pradesh, started over a petty reason— the deceased had failed to wake up the accused to have lunch with the other three.

The accused, Krishna Kumar Yadav , ended up stabbing Dinesh Kumar after he broke a bottle of alcohol bought by Yadav, said South Goa superintendent of police, Arvind Gawas. Vinod Mohanlal Gyanwar, 25, sustained serious stab injuries.

With both the accused, Yadav and Jaldeep Singh, in their custody, the police are now looking for the knife used in the crime as it was not found at the scene on Wednesday.

The trailer of the accused had arrived in Goa on Wednesday, and the trailer of the victims was in Goa from Tuesday, police said. Ponda PI Mohan Gaude is investigating into the matter.
