Security forces launch searches in south Kulgam

Security forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Badroo village of Yaripora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.

The CASO was launched following inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, said an official.

However, the CASO was disrupted following intense clashes between locals and the security forces.

Reports said that youth came out of their houses and pelted the security forces with stones to disrupt the operation.

The security forces, they said, fired tear gas shells to chase away the protesters.

The CASO in which the security forces also used drones was later on called off.
