Senior Congress leader wants to get me killed, says Ram Vilas Vedanti

KANPUR: Member of the Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas and former BJP MP Ram Vilas Vedanti has alleged that a senior Congress leader wants to get him killed.

He was on his way to Auraiya when he took a halt in Kanpur and interacted with the media on Saturday.

Vedanti said if anything unfortunate happened to him, the Congress leader should be held responsible for it.

He also accused Congress and Pakistan of creating hurdles in the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya .

“Construction of Ram temple got delayed only due to hurdles created by Congress and Pakistan in regular hearing of the Ayodhya case in Supreme Court as they didn’t want the case to be settled,” said Vedanti and accused the Congress of doing divisive politics in the country since independence. “This is why people threw them (Congress) out of power in 2014,” he added.

He also said the Sunni Waqf Board is getting funds from Pakistan and hiring costly lawyers to represent their case in Supreme Court.

“I just wanted to question Sunni Waqf Board in this regard. While on one hand they cry that they are running short of funds to pay salary to their employees, on the other, they hire costly lawyers to represent their case in Supreme Court, which is not possible without financial support from Pakistan.”

He also pleaded people not to raise provocative slogans on streets after the Supreme Court verdict, as it could disturb law and order.

“Rather, it would be better if they indulge in puja and and other religious rituals within the confine of their homes,” Vedanti added.
