Several Railway stations are upgrades…check pics in slider inside

New Delhi: Indian Railways' station upgrade and beautification drive is in full force. It is worth mentioning here that the Railway minister Piyush Goyal recently launched several projects which will not only boost Railways infrastructure but, will also enhance passenger experience and will the improve cleanliness and hygiene.

It is to be noted that within the last couple of years, several railway stations such as Manduadih, Jaipur, New Delhi, Tirupati, Siliguri, Hojai, Mathura, Izzatnagar etc. have been redeveloped. Railways stations are being revamped and are being equipped with better amenities like airport-standard illumination, LCD display panels, proper circulating area, luxury waiting rooms, lounges, modern washrooms, lactating rooms, escalators, lifts, foot over bridges and more.

However, Solapur and Shirdi railway station also got a spldendid makeover recently. The stations look no less than an airport or mall with the new facelift. Piyush Goyal tweeted about the upgrade saying, "Sai Nagar Shirdi and Solapur stations have been developed and have been equipped with lift, foot over bridge, food plaza, CCTV and WiFi facility. These facilities have given the station a new look, the passengers are taking full advantage of these facilities."

It is worth mentioning here is that Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC) will invest Rs 7,500 crore this year for the redevelopment of about 50 railway stations across the country.
