Shipra River wreak havoc in Ujjain, several temples submerged

Indore: In Madhya Pradesh, the river drains are overflowing due to continuous rain. Be it Narmada or Shipra Takriban, all the rivers are flowing above the danger mark. In Ujjain, the Shipra river is in spate after torrential rain for the past 24 hours. Tarana has recorded 8 inches of rain in the past 24 hours.

The temple at the banks of the Ghats has been submerged due to continuous rise in the water level of Shipra. Meanwhile, water logging in several areas has gone up from one to two feet.

In Indore, the Yashwant Sagar Pond was flooded due to overnight rain. After the water level has increased considerably, 3 gates were opened which will remain open till the level of 19 feet is retained. Jhabua's Mahi, Anas, Pampawati and Agni rivers are in spate. The Bahadur Sagar Pond of Jhabua has also reached above the danger mark due to incessant rains. Here, an Eicher truck was swept away with water and trapped in a rampata. On the other hand, Mahi Dam is full, which led to the opening of the gates at 1 pm.

However, the situation in Dewas has started deteriorating after the rains. The entire village has been turned into a pond due to torrential rains in the village of Randhan Khedi Tehsil Tonk Khurd in the district. On the other hand, the water falling from the mountains on the Bheru Ghat Khandwa Road has become a problem for the drivers. The flow on the road was so fast that a river was surging.
