Shopkeeper thrashes man in Mansa Devi Complex

PANCHKULA: A shopkeeper allegedly thrashed a man when he tried to save three to four children from a beating in Mansa Devi Complex, police said on Sunday after registering a case.


Ravi Lala, a resident of Mansa Devi Complex, said he works at a shoe shop and found Bajrangi, the accused, thrashing three to four children.



When Lala confronted him, Bajrangi started making allegations that these children had stolen some goods and accused Lala of helping them. Bajrangi allegedly called five of his accomplices and started using abusive language with him. Later, they hit him on his head and attacked him with stones and bricks. Lala received multiple injuries on his head. He was admitted to General Hospital, Sector 6.

Police registered a case under sections 323 (punishment for voluntary causing hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Mansa Devi police station.
