Showers offer brief respite; more rain this week in Bhopal, says Met

BHOPAL: Bhopal woke up to showers on Tuesday morning, but the relief as soon, the clouds paved way for the sun, turning the day weather hot and humid. However, by evening, the weather changed again with thick clouds covering the city sky and offering rain in the city. Showers were witnessed in several other districts of the state as well.




Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said there is moisture feeding in MP from both the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea side. Rainfall activity would continue in the city and parts of state for the next few days.

Day temperature in Bhopal on Tuesday was recorded at 32.3 degree Celsius — a good three degrees above the normal mark — while night temperature was recorded at 25.1 degrees, which too was two degrees more than normal. Wind direction was northerly with an average speed of 20 kilometer per hour.

The places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm were Chhindwara 29 mm, Indore 22.8 mm, Guna 11 mm, Sagar 13 mm, Damoh 23 mm, Khajuraho 1.6 mm, Narsinghpur 8 mm, Khajuraho 9 mm, Bhopal 0.3 mm, Jabalpur 0.8 mm and Hoshangabad recorded trace of rain.

In the forecast for Bhopal on Wednesday, the meteorological officials said, there could be cloudy sky and possibility of thundery development and rain in parts of the city. Day and night temperature would be respectively at 32 and 24 degree Celsius while average wind speed will be 20 kmph.
