Single use plastic free Rajouri : DDC flags off Swatchchta Express

With the aim of creating awareness among the masses about the harmful effects of single used plastic on the environment and to make the district clean and green,Deputy Commissioner,Rajouri,Mohammad Aijaz Asad today flagged off Swatchta Express from Dakbunglow Rajouri.

Additional SP Liyaqat Ali,Assistant Commossioner Development Akhter Qazi,District Panchayat officer Dr.Abdul Khabir,frontline workers and PRI members were present on the occasion.

'Swachata Express' shall move in all the 312 panchayats of the district from 11 to 1st october,2019 to aware the people about the harmful effects of use of plastic on the environment and to spread the message of sanitation and cleanliness in the whole district. 

The DDC while speaking on the occasion exhorted upon the concerned officers,frontline workers and PRI members to sensitize the people about the ill effects of plastic and polythene on environment and work in close coordination so that the dream of making the district clean and green could be given the shape of reality in a fast manner. He sought the cooperation of the general public and media for the success of this intiative by district administration.

He asked the concerned officers to make suitable plans in this regard and put in place extra effort to achieve the goal as early as possible so that the problems created on the environment due to single use plastic can be mitigated.
