Six booked for farmer's murder in Karnal

KARNAL: Karnal police have registered a case against six persons for allegedly murdering a farmer. The deceased has been identified as Surendra (50), a resident of Dabarki Khurd village in the district. He was murdered late on Wednesday night and his burnt body was found lying in his field.


The kin of victim alleged in their police complaint that Surendra went to his field on Tuesday evening but did not come till late at night.

They alleged Surendra was burnt by his neighbours. They alleged that Surendra was killed as his son was in a relationship with the daughter of one of the neighbour and they had already threatened to the father-son duo. Surendra’s son is already in jail in the matter.

The police after a preliminary investigation took the body to the Kalpana Chawla Medical College and Hospital at Karnal where a postmortem was conducted. Later, the body was handed over to the family members. Kunjpura police station in charge Surindra Singh said that on the statement of the farmer’s kin, a case of murder has been registered against six-person including Om Prakash, his four sons, all resident of Dabarki Khurd village, and one of his relatives.
