Sobhita Dhulipala says 'war' between North and South films became visible post pan-Indian films' success

Sobhita Dhulipala is one of the most gorgeous and talented actresses of the Indian film industry. Having done a great amount of work in both North and South films of India, the actress recently said that the ongoing debate of North vs. South films is not new and it has only come to the forefront because of the recent success of pan-Indian films.

Talking about this whole debate, Sobhita Dhulipala recently told a news portal, “I don't think it is a new war at all. The war has just become more visible now because of cinematic successes. But since pre-independence there has been debate on what should be the national language. India isn't really a union of states in a way. It's a country where we are all tied together. We cheer for our cricket team but inherently, we are very different in our food and culture and languages. We should acknowledge and celebrate it. Homogeneity is not something that is natural or something I root for. I like the differences.”

In the same interview, the actress also talked about why she left modelling after winning Femina Miss India Earth 2013 and entered the entertainment industry. She said that she was always interested in fashion and wanted to be cool but as she started modelling, she realized that she did not find creative fulfilment in the job and started auditioning for films post that.

Sobhita Dhulipala was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan: II’ which is the sequel to the film, ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I.’ The film stars Vikram , Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Trisha in lead roles. Actors Aishwarya Lekshmi, R. Sarathkumar, Jayaram, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban are also a part of the film.

She also has ‘Monkey Man’ which will release on OTT and mark the directorial debut of Dev Patel . It also stars Dev Patel and Sharlto Copley besides Sobhita.
