Sonepur Mela: Railways to run special trains from November 11 to 13

PATNA: The East Central Railway (ECR) will run three pairs of special trains on the Muzaffarpur-Sonepur, Chhapra-Sonepur and Pataliputra Junction-Sonepur routes from November 11 to 13. The step has been taken to cope with the rush of passengers at the Sonepur Mela on the occasion of Kartik Purnima on November 12.

According to ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar, the Sonepur-Muzaffarpur special train (05201/05202) will leave Sonepur at 12.45am and reach Muzaffarpur at 2.30am. On its return journey, it will leave Muzaffarpur at 2.45am and reach Sonepur at 4.50am from November 11 to 13.

“The train will have stoppages at Hajipur , Ghoswar, Sarai, Bithauli, Bhagwanpur, Benipatti Pirapur, Goraul, Kurhani, Turki and Ramdayalu Nagar,” the CPRO told this newspaper on Saturday.

Besides, the Sopnepur-Chhapra special train (05203/05204) will leave Sonepur at 12.10am and reach Chhapra at 2.25am. On its return journey, it will leave Chhapra at 2.55am and reach Sonepur at 5.25am. It will stop at Parmanandpur, Nayagaon, Sitalpur, Dighwara, Ambika Bhawani Halt, Avatar Nagar, Baragopal, Dumri Juara, Golden Ganj and Chhapra Kacheri.

Another special train (05205/05206) will run between Sonepur and Pataliputra Junction from November 11 to 13. It will leave Sonepur at 12.05am and reach Pataliputra Junction at 12.45am. On its return journey, it will leave Pataliputra Junction at 1am and reach Sonepur at 1.40am. It will stop at Pahleza Ghat and Digha Bridge stations.

Meanwhile, the Raxaul-Anand Vihar Sadbhavna Express (14015), Katihar-Amritsar Amrapali Express (15707), Raxaul-Hajipur Intercity Express (15202), Tata-Chhapra Express (18181), Gwalior-Barauni Mail (11124) and Pawan Express (11061) will be granted temporary stoppages at Ramdyalu Nagar, Turki, Kurhani, Goraul, Bhagwanpur, Sarai and Ghoswar from November 11 to 13.

Besides, the Hatia-Gorakhpur Maurya Express (15027), Sadbhavna Express (14015) and Saryu Yamuna Shaheed Express (14649/14673) will stop for a minute at Parmanandpur, Nayagoan, Sitalpur, Avatar Nagar, Baragopal and Golden Ganj stations for three days. The Amritsar-Saharsa Express (14618) and Balia-Sealdah Express (13106) will stop at Chaksikandar and Sahdei Buzurg stations for a minute.
