Soon India's first underwater train will run under Hooghly river in Kolkata



India's first underwater train project in Kolkata has been completed.  This metro will start working soon.  This announcement was made by Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday through his Twitter handle.


He wrote , "India's first underwater train will soon start running under the Hooghly River in Kolkata.  Example of excellent engineering This train is a symbol of the progress of the railway in the country.

 With this, Kolkata residents will feel comfortable, and the country will feel proud."

This 16-km long East-West line of Kolkata Metro will connect Salt Lake Sector 5 with Howrah Maidan.  Phase One of this project which connects sector 5 with Salt Lake Stadium will be operational soon.  The tunnel through which this metro will pass will protect it from the water of Hooghly.
