After a colossal furor by earthy people challenging tree cutting inside the Aarey Colony, the Mumbai Police on Saturday captured 29 activists, including six ladies. The challenges were to restrict the felling of around 2,646 trees and the activists guaranteed that in excess of 1,000 trees have just been chopped down.

The activists increased their challenges after the Bombay High Court on Friday rejected all petitions with respect to the felling of the trees by the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MMRCL) in the green zone to develop a vehicle shed for the Metro-3 task.
