SRK's Meer Foundation & Team KKR Launch Initiatives For Cyclone Amphan Relief Work In Bengal

One week after sending across prayers and love to those who got affected by the devastation caused by the cyclone Amphan in West Bengal and Odisha, Shah Rukh Khan has finally stepped in to help.

In a message that he shared a week back, SRK had written,

"My prayers, thoughts & love to those affected by the devastation caused by cyclone Amphan in Bengal & Odisha.

The news has left me feeling hollow. Each & every one of them is my own. Like my family. We must stay strong through these testing times until we can smile together again."

Living up to his promise of making and seeing Amphan-hit Bengal smile again, Shah Rukh Khan's Meer Foundation and Kolkatta Knight Riders announced a few incredible initiates.

Below are the details of the initiatives that Shah Rukh Khan's Meer Foundation and Team KKR will be implementing:

1. Two-time Indian Premier League champions Kolkata Knight Riders announced to plant 5000 trees.

Under KKR's Plant A 6 initiative, the team has pledged to work with the authorities and plant 5000 trees in the Kolkata.

2. An undisclosed amount has been transferred to the relief fund set up by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the state.

3. KKR launched an initiative called Sahayta Vahan: Volunteers will be going to four badly affected districts in West Bengal, namely Kolkata, North and South Parganas, and Purba Medinipur.

They will be distributing essential items like ration and hygiene products will be distributed. The team will also go around the state and help affected people in satellite towns and districts. "Ration and essential hygiene items to be distributed to the needy across four most-affected regions -- Kolkata, North, and South 24 Parganas and East Medinipur."
