Student hits teacher with sandal for molestation bid

Agra: A student hit her private coaching institute teacher with a sandal and garlanded him with shoes after he allegedly attempted to molest her. A video of the incident was widely shared on social media.

The incident took place at Ataiypur village under Kayamganj police jurisdiction of Farrukhabad district.

According to sources, the accused teacher runs private coaching classes in a rented accommodation for intermediate and college level students.

“On Wednesday afternoon, one of his students objected to his inappropriate touch and gesture and left class. She later returned with her parents and hit him with a sandal. Her relatives forced him to wear a garland of shoes publicly,” said a local source. After the incident, the girl took the teacher to the local police station.

The entire episode was recorded by bystanders on their smartphones and later shared on social media.

Speaking with TOI, station house officer of Kayamganj Jaswant Singh said, “The girl has accused her teacher of misbehaving while the teacher claimed, that he merely reprimanded her for talking on the phone in class. Both parties were asked to hand over written complaints but none did so and settled the matter on a peaceful note.”
