Students should be aggressive on plastic ban campaign: Round table president Balakrishna

GUNTUR: Promising to work for the plastic-free environment , hundreds of students held a rally in Guntur. About 100 visually challenged students also participated in the rally organized to mark the International White cane safety day on Tuesday. Guntur Round Table (GRT-86) president Raavi Balakrishna , Hindu college of pharmacy management courses chief BV Ramana led the procession held from Hindu pharmacy college to lodge centre in the city.



Addressing the gathering, Balakrishna said that students should be pro-active in making the plastic-free society. He said that recent decisions of the state and central governments were also indication of their commitment to the public safety. He said that governments have also realized the danger of single use plastic causing to the nature.

Samarthanam trust founder Ramakrishna Paramahamsa said that students should enforce others to follow the rules on plastic usage as they were going to be the sufferer in the future if the issue is not addressed on war footing basis. He said that students should spread the message of ill-effects of single use plastic among the commoners. BV Ramana, ladies circle president Raavi Lakshmipriaya, Vecha Veerendra, Ramani, Matta Ram Kumar, Rajesh, Vamsi, Karunakar and Prasanth were present.
