Tamil Nadu CM woos Tesla Inc

Chennai: Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, who is on a three-nation tour, on Thursday visited Tesla’s electric vehicle manufacturing unit in San Francisco in the US.

The chief minister was accompanied by his cabinet colleagues M C Sampath, R B Udayakumar, K T Rajenthra Bhalaji and chief secretary K Shanmugam.

“The CM visited Tesla Inc unit in Fremont and got to see manufacturing of environment-friendly vehicles, batteries and energy production,” an official release from the government said.

Later, the Palaniswami-led Tamil Nadu delegation also visited Bloom Energy.

There he interacted with its founder K R Sridhar, on the development of on-site electric power solution and the technologies to generate clean energy.
