Tamil Nadu: Two groups clash, 25 boats and several houses burnt

Chennai: Large-scale violence erupted in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu on Saturday following the alleged death of a man. The mob set ablaze a boat and two-wheelers during the violence. In this entire case, the police have taken 43 people in custody. they are being interrogated. This incident is being reported from Thalanguda village.

The atmosphere has become tense since a clash between two opposing political groups in Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district on Saturday night. One person died in this clash, while many people have been injured. The miscreants set many boats and vehicles on fire and vandalized many houses during this period. Since this attack, panic has spread among the people of the area.

According to the information received, political enmity had been going on between the two groups of the area for a long time. The dispute erupted after the murder of the brother of a former local body chief. According to preliminary reports, at least 25 boats, 50 fishing nets, 25 two-wheelers and four cars were set on fire in the clash between the two groups. During this violence, at least 10 houses have also been reported vandalized. According to eyewitnesses, the miscreants escaped from the scene by damaging property and setting fire.
