TCP approves draft development plans of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, Sonipat-Kundli

Chandigarh: The state-level committee of Haryana town and country planning department, which met under the chairmanship of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday, approved the draft development plans of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri and Sonipat-Kundli multi-functional urban complexes for 2031. Besides, it also approved draft development plan of Kharkhauda for 2041 and revised draft development plans of Kaithal and Rohtak for 2031.



It was done after the meeting of the committee at newly-constructed building of the TCP department here. The plan of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri has been prepared for a projected population of 13,13,500 persons by 2031. The proposed average residential density is 250 persons per hectare. In the development plan, 3,339.58 hectares has been kept for residential purpose and 376.86 hectares area for commercial usage. Similarly, 1,070.55 hectares has been kept for industrial purpose, 953.33 hectares for transport and communication, 181.89 hectares for public utilities, 315.46 hectares for public and semi-public uses and 854.87 hectares for open spaces.

The plan of Sonipat-Kundli multi-functional urban complex has been prepared for a projected population of 16 lakh persons. The average residential sector density by then would be 260 persons per hectare. In the plan, 4,771 hectares have been kept for residential purpose, 1,006 hectares for commercial purpose, 3,332 hectares for industrial, 1,645 hectares for transport and communication, 354 hectares for public utilities, 4,268 hectares for public and semi-public uses, 3,719 hectares for parks and open spaces and 512 hectares for water bodies and natural conservation zone.

Similarly, the plan of Kharkhauda in Sonipat district has been prepared for a projected population of 4.70 lakh persons by 2041. The average residential sector density by then would be 300 persons per hectare. In the draft plan, 1,300 hectares have been kept reserved for residential purpose, 118 hectares for commercial purpose, 2,229 hectares for industrial usage, 616 hectares for transport and communication, 79 hectares for public utilities,139 hectares for public and semi-public use, 483 hectares for open spaces and 84 hectares for water bodies and natural conservation zone.

In the revised plan of Kaithal, for a projected population of 5 lakh persons by 2031, the average residential density would be 270 persons per hectare. The plan has been prepared while taking into account incorporation of new alignment of national highway-152, the proposed sector roads as per ground realities or satellite imageries, new policies and extension of urbanizable zone considering growth of town on account of construction of new NH and influx of industries.
