Teacher canes boy, case lodged

Jaisalmer: A teacher of a private school in Barmer allegedly caned a Class V student who is now unable to even sit. His family members lodged a police case on Wednesday. Sanjay Rathi, the boy’s father, submitted a report at the Kotwali police station, Barmer, alleging that the teacher beat his son so brutally that he has been screaming in pain for past two days.

Rathi said that his son is unable to sit and sleep. According to the child, after the school got over he was on the swing when some children came and took him to physical training instructor (PTI) who beat him with a stick. The child even complained to the principal, but she did not listen to him.

A case has been lodged under IPC Section 341.
