'Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to attend House proceedings'

PATNA: The one question doing the rounds in political circles is that if RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s sons Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav will take part in the winter session beginning on Friday.

RJD sources said Tejashwi, the leader of opposition in the state assembly, is expected to attend the opening day session.

His long absence from the monsoon session earlier this year had left his legislators red-faced. “He will raise all important issues in the House,” Tejashwi’s personal secretary Sanjay Yadav said on Thursday.

“If he (Tejashwi) does not show his active participation, then it will give a wrong message. The party has already suffered because of his absence in monsoon session,” said a senior RJD leader.

However, no one in RJD confirmed whether the Mahua MLA (Tej Pratap) will be attending the session or not. “We have no idea about the whereabouts of Tej Pratap. All I know is that he was in Vrindavan a few days back,” said an RJD MLA.

RJD has also called a meeting of its legislators at 10, Circular Road residence of former CM Rabri Devi on Friday afternoon, state party president Ram Chandra Purbey said. “Issues like recent waterlogging, spurt in dengue cases, pollution, unfit drinking water and lawlessness in the state will be discussed in the meeting to raise in both the Houses,” said Purbey.

He said the party will also be raising the issue of misbehaviour with public representatives at the hands of government officials.
