Telangana: Senior forest officer ends life by consuming pesticide, kin says she faced harassment from husband

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old woman forest officer allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Mohammedabad town of Mahbubnagar district in Telangana on Wednesday. The victim has been identified as Wahida Begum who was working as deputy forest range officer.

It is alleged that the officer ended her life after alleged harassment from her husband. 

According to a report in Times of India, Wahida Begum consumed pesticide at her residence in Mohammedabad on Wednesday afternoon. 

She was immediately rushed to Mohammedabad government hospital but was declared brought dead. 

"No suicide note was found from the victim. The family of the forest officer claimed she committed suicide after harassment from her husband, who works as a clerk in the forest department," said a police officer. 

Police have filed a case under section 498-A and 306 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). There have been no arrests so far in the case.   

In a similar incident in July,  a 21-year-old woman ended her life soon after she sent a video of herself to 3 men. In the video, the woman was pleading a man named Shiva to talk to her. The incident took place at the woman's residence in Bhaktavatsala Nagar, Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.

The Woman's selfie video also went viral on social media. In the video, the woman could be seen wearing a scarf on her neck while she requested Shiva to talk to her. 

The incident came to light when the woman's family members saw her hanging in her room. The distraught family members of the deceased informed the cops and investigation was launched into the case.
