The Flute Sisters enthrall Chandigarh

The second day of the Hemantotosav at Pracheen Kala Kendra witnessed a distinctive performance of Flute jugalbandi by the impressive Flute sisters Suchissmita and Debopriya Chatterjee from Mumbai. It also featured Mohiniattyam dance by Jayaprabha Menon at Tagore Theatre.
Debopriya and Suchismita are world's most unique pair of flautist sisters.

In their natural settings, with hugely gifted parents, Prof. Robin Chatterjee , Krishna Chatterjee, both vocalists and composers from Allahabad, the musical sojourn of The Flute Sisters began early
on. Their quest for the depth, richness of Hindustani classical music, especially the flute or ‘Bansuri’ brought them to the feet of Guru the greatest living exponent of Maihar Senia Gharana, the Sun of Flute Padmavibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia .
