Theft of gold, cash at Margao

Margao: Unidentified culprits broke into a flat at Shirvodem, Margao, and made off with cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupees. Police said Carmelina Pinto stated in her complaint that she found the main door of her flat broken open when she returned home on Tuesday night. Cash amounting to Rs 70,000 as well as a gold necklace set, bangles and rings were stolen from the cupboards, police said.tnn
