Thief trying to sell stolen Gondal palace silver plate held

RAJKOT: While trying to sell off the 1kg silver plate which he had stolen from Gondal palace , the police on Sunday arrested Dinesh Solanki (32), a resident of Harsiddhi Society from Veraval .


“We arrested Solanki on basis of a tip-off that he was hunting for buyers for the royal platter. Solanki confessed of stealing from Gondal and Dhrangadhra palaces,” said K J Chauhan, sub-inspector with Veraval local crime branch.

“We have informed Dhrangadhra and Gondal police, who will secure Solanki’s custody and carry out further investigation,” Chauhan said.
