This Day Last Year: When Jisshu Sengupta's character in Mahesh Bhatt's 'Sadak 2' was announced

Tollywood is thriving on nostalgia amidst the nationwide lockdown and here’s a throwback from last year when the makers of ‘ Sadak 2’ announced Jisshu Sengupta ’s character in the film and it created quite a lot of buzz among his fans.

The announcement on social media revealed after his captivating performance in Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, Jisshu Sengupta will don another significant role in ‘Sadak 2.

He will be seen Alia Bhatt 's onscreen father. Directed by Mahesh Bhatt , the upcoming Bollywood flick also stars Sanjay Dutt , Aditya Roy Kapoor and Pooja Bhatt in pivotal roles.

Speaking about his co-star, Jisshu had earlier said, "Alia’s passion for her craft is really commendable. Her heart is always in her work and she is no doubt amongst the finest actors in Indian cinema today."

Jisshu who has wooed the audience with his brilliant performance in critically acclaimed Bollywood films like ‘Piku’, ‘Mardaani’ to name a few and was last seen alongside Kangana Ranaut in ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ earlier this year.

‘Sadak 2’ sees the return of Mahesh Bhatt to the directorial seat after almost two decades. Interestingly, this film will also see him direct both daughters, Pooja and Alia, for the first time in his career. Sadak 2 is the sequel to the 1991 hit ‘Sadak’ which had Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles.
