THIS IITian works as a 'trackman' in Dhanbad railway division

New Delhi, August 26:

Believe it or not, an IITian has joined group “D” job in the Indian Railways in Dhanbad railway division as track maintainer.

Blame it on an Indian's craze for government jobs or increase in unemployment, for Shrawan Kumar, who holds his B.Tech and M.Tech degree from Mumbai IIT, job security was the main reason for joining the Railways.

He has been posted at Chandrapura under Public Works Inspector (PWI), Telo and looks after the track maintenance between Chandrapura and Telo section.

Many senior officers of the Dhanbad Railway Division are surprised after Shrawan's joining as they never thought that such a highly qualified man would ever join on “D “post.

Shrawan is a resident of Patna who joined IIT- Bombay in 2010 in integrated duel degree course and obtained degree in 2015.

He always wanted a government job since the beginning.

Shrawan has high hopes of becoming officer in government sector in future.
