Three held with fake currency in Panchmahal

Vadodara: Panchmahal police seized fake currency notes having face value of Rs 3.69lakh and arrested three persons in connection with the seizure.

The breakthrough was made after the police was tipped off regarding the movement of the large stash of cash.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Panchmahal police had received a tip off that one Jagdish Chauhan, a resident of Nakreji village in Godhra taluka of Panchmahal district, and two others would be going from Nakreji to Hareda village with a large amount of counterfeit cash.



The police kept a watch and intercepted the car in which the accused were travelling. The three accused including Chauhan, Ramansinh Javdav from the Gopri village in Desar taluka of Vadodara district and Natwarsinh Chauhan from the Amreshwar village in Godhra taluka were found in possession of fake currency notes with face value of Rs 3,69,700.

The fake currency included 2,822 notes of Rs 100 denomination, 225 notes of Rs 200 denomination and 85 notes of Rs 500 denomination.

The police is trying to ascertain the source of the notes and is also looking for another accused in the case Ajitsinh Parmar from the Mithapura village in Thasra taluka of Kheda district.
