Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams board to publish all donations online

CHENNAI: In a move aimed at transparency, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board has decided to display all donations it has received over the years on its official website.

The list will carry the donor's name, type, area and extent of the land/building, survey number, location and address of the property, date on which they have been received, apart from the gift deed information.

The board is hoping the move - formally agreed upon during a meeting of the governing body on Thursday - will also motivate and increase confidence in all potential donors whose future generations can also view this information.

As per data, donors have offered about 6,000 acres in various places in India and Nepal. Several properties are registered in the name of TTD in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These donated properties comprise about 15% of total properties inherited by the temple.

TTD officials said data of all donor, including those who had offered lands and properties from one cents to several acres and hectares, has been meticulously recorded and preserved. However, officials didn't reveal the exact value of these properties.

All data will be uploaded within 20 to 30 days, said Sekhar Reddy , special invitee and local advisory committee in Chennai of TTD Board. "The estate department of the TTD Board has been maintaining the data. Manual entries in the ledgers are preserved as digital data in our computers," he said.
