TMC Fields 24 Candidates For Elections In Other States

Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress has fielded 24 candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in other states, party supremo Mamata Banerjee said on Tuesday.

The states are Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, Bihar and the Union Territory of Andaman. In Odisha, the TMC has fielded two candidates in the ensuing Lok Sabha and 10 candidates in the Assembly elections.

Agni Charan Jena will contest from Bhadrak (SC) seat while Subhrangshu Sekhar Padhi will fight from Bhubaneswar seat. Suvendu Adhikari has been appointed as the Observer for Odisha.

The candidates for the Assembly seats are Sibnarayan Biswal (Bhadraipokhari), Ramahari Das (Bhadrak), Natha Bairaigi Behera (Basudevpur), Bishnu Mallick (Jayadev SC), Trinatha Sahoo (Central Bhubaneswar), Pramod Parihari (North Bhubaneshwar), Jadumani Pradhan (Jatani), Soubhagya Kumar Panda (Beguna).

The nominees for Ekamra Bhubaneshwar and Khurda are yet to be decided. The TMC has fielded three candidates in Jharkhand. Ajanta Mahato will contest from Jamshedpur while Mondol Hansda will contest from Rajmahal and Sanjay Kumar Pandey has been fielded from Ranchi respectively. Arjun Singh will be the party’s Observer for Jharkhand.

Ayan Mandal will fight from Andaman seat. The TMC has fielded six candidates in Assam. Chandan Das will contest from Karimgunj (SC seat) while Hitabrata Ray and Nurul Islam Chowdhury will fight from Silchar and Dhubri seats respectively. Kamala Kanta Daimary will contest from Kokrajhar while Ashak Ali Dewan and Manoj Kumar Sarma will contest from Barpeta and Guwahati seats. In Bihar, the party has fielded Javed Islam Khan from Kishangunj and Sunil Singh from Maharajgunj.
