TN horticulture dept makes vegetable and flower arches to welcome Modi and Xi Jinping to Mamallapuram

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu horticulture department has made a vegetable arch and two flower arches at Mamallapuram to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping .

The veg arch has been installed near Five Chariots and the flower arches are at Arjuna Penance and the Shore Temple.

The veg arch is measuring 55 feet. Different colours of capsicum - red, yellow and green, carrot, brinjal, banana flower and radish are some of the veg used to create an arch.

Horticulture additional director Tamil Vendhan said the department had used only 50, 000 flowers to make the flower arches. The flowers were brought from flower gardens in Krishnagiri district.
