Town Hall Meeting for MSME Entrepreneurs in Amritsar, Punjab
FIDD, Chandigarh organized a Town Hall meeting for MSME Entrepreneurs on August 23, 2019 in Amritsar, Punjab. The meeting was chaired by Shri Anil K. Sharma, Executive Director, RBI.Smt. Executive Director in his address emphasized that the purpose of the Town Hall Meeting was to create awareness about the bank schemes for lending to MSME customers and also resolve the issues between bankers and entrepreneurs by bringing them together in a common platform. He urged the banking fraternity to have an empathetic approach in dealing with the MSME borrowers and provide timely and adequate finance to these units. He advised the bankers to disseminate information regarding various MSME loanproductsto the entrepreneurs.Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar has apprised about the MSME Sector in Amitsar and its contribution in employment generation. He also highlighted the cultural heritage of Amritsar and its importance in tourism industry in Amritsar.Gm, SIDBI has given presentation regarding various schemes operated by SIDBI for the benefit of MSME Sector. During the interactive session, specific queries raised by entrepreneurs were responded to by Shri Anil K. Sharma, Executive Director, RBI; Smt. Industry Associations lauded the initiatives taken by RBI in promotion of MSMEs in the country.Bankers expressed their willingness to provide full support to the sector.
