Tunes Patna will dance to this Holi

Holi celebration in Patna is almost incomplete without the popular festival songs sung by the well-known Bhojpuri singers. In fact, playing these songs has almost become a festival ritual. Patna Times lists some of the most popular Holi songs played in the city. Read on:

Holi Hamra Na Bhawe: The latest Holi video, Holi Hamra Na Bhawe, which features Neetu N Chandra and Mohammed Ali Shah is doing brisk business in the market just after its release.

Sanjana Kumari says, “This song is all about the togetherness we need and feel for our beloved ones in the face of traditional festivities, especially when they are not around.”

Lalli Chunari: Be it Patna or any other corner of Bihar, Sharda Sinha’s Lalli Chunari is a must play during the festival. Sweta Singh , a student shares, “It’s a folk song that’s one among my favourites. Sharda Sinha has proven that a Bhojpuri holi song can be non-vulgar and decent. Her song Rang Rang Mein has also gained popularity in a very short time.”

Ki Hori Aa Gayi Hai: The song, from movie Suhaag, is a big hit since 2015. Kaushaki Bharti, a homemaker says, “Voiced by Sadhana Sargam and Parthiv Gohil, it connects well to our tradition. For this Holi, I have included this song in my playlist so that we can dance to it.”

Jogira: Sung by Sarvan Saaj, the song, Jogira Sa Ra Ra Ra, was released in 2013. Neil Kumar, an MNC employee says, “Sarvan Saaj hails from Begusarai and my village is in the same district, so we are big fans of his song, Jogira.”

Ka Ho Bhauji Holari Bhajai: The song by famous Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari was released in 2011. Sanjeet Kumar, a government official and a resident of Anishabad shares, “I’m a big fan of Manoj Tiwari and I have many of his albums. In the song, Ka Ho Bhauji Holari Bhajai, Manoj shows a deep relationship between a devar and a bhabhi.”
