Two arrested for cattle smuggling, 13 cows seized

BIJNOR: Two criminals were arrested for cattle trafficking with a truck full of 13 cows in Bijnor on Wednesday. The accused had purchased the cattle from Punjab and were taking them to Moradabad .


Addressing a press conference, Bijnor superintendent of police, Sanjeev Tyagi, said, “Police were checking the vehicle on Amheda road on Wednesday.

In the meanwhile, police tried to stop a truck but driver of the truck tried to escape. Police arersted two persons identified as Vaseem from Budhana of Muzaffarnagar and Gulam-E-Mustafa from Punjab.”

“Police have seized 13 cows and their calves with a truck in which they were being carried. The cattle were crammed in the truck. And most of them were unconscious,” Tyagi said.

SP further said, “The cattle traffickers were carrying the cattel from Punjab and were on their way to Moradabad to sell them. They were being taken for slaughter. Police have registered a case against the culprits under relevant sections.”
